Los Angeles Lakers Open to Austin Reaves Trade in Exchange for ‘Bona Fide All-Star’
Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

Los Angeles Lakers guard Austin Reaves has done a tremendous job in establishing himself as a well-loved fan-favorite among the LA faithful. However, despite being one of the most important players on the roster, it appears that the 25-year-old does not have untouchable status ahead of what is expected to be a very interesting summer for the Lakers.

According to reports, LA is actually open to the prospect of trading away Reaves at the right price.

Los Angeles Lakers News: Austin Reaves on His Way Out?

Lakers insider Jovan Buha of The Athletic recently dropped a bombshell about LA’s offseason plans for Reaves. The reporter acknowledged the fact that the priority for the Lakers is to retain Reaves’ services for the long haul. At the same time, however, the team has not completely closed the door on a potential superstar swap:

“I’ve heard the Lakers do not want to trade Austin Reaves. They love Austin Reaves. But, if there was a scenario in which they would consider trading him, it would have to be for a bona fide All-Star,” Buha said on Monday’s episode of Buha’s Block (h/t Julia Stumbaugh of Bleahcer Report.

For what it’s worth, Reaves is locked up with the Lakers through 2027. He is set to pocket an average of around $13.9 million per year over the next three years, making his team-friendly deal even more attractive for potential trade suitors.
