We're focused on the straights market tonight on the ice, with four NHL games to start our week. There are plenty of intriguing spots for goals, and while I'm never going to shy away from the SGP market we've started targeting more, there's value here on just backing one player to get involved.
Kraken vs. Devils, Monday, Feb. 12, 7 p.m. ET
New Jersey should be able to score tonight against a Seattle team allowing 3.0 goals per game on the road over the past month and a half, especially when you consider that the Devils themselves are averaging 3.7 goals per game on home ice in the same time span.
The New Jersey top line of Palat, Nico Hischier and Jesper Bratt are rolling, and despite that, we're able to get Palat at plus-money to produce despite Hischier and Bratt priced between -165 and -190.
Palat has five points in his last four games and has a point in all five games against the Kraken, tallying six in total. I'll gladly back that history in an inviting spot at this price, please and thank you.
Flames vs. Rangers, Monday, Feb. 12, 7 p.m. ET
At first glance Calgary may not be a team worth backing for goals, but I see enough to suggest they can find us at least three here. Igor Shesterkin has allowed 3+ goals in three straight starts and four of his last five, and the Flames have been feisty lately.
Calgary is averaging 4.1 goals per game on the road over the past 45 days, and they've scored 14 goals across their last three.
Their third line, led by Blake Coleman, has been a big reason. Coleman has three points in his past two games and 14 in his last 10 on the road. He's also loved seeing New York over the years, with five points in his past five and a point in nine of his last 15 meetings.
Linemates Andrew Mangiapane (+130) and Mikael Backlund (+100) have better prices, but I prefer Coleman's steadier production.
